Miguel Albuquerque believes that by the end of this year, Madeira will be able to offer direct flights to and from Toronto.
The President of the Regional Government says that the desired option would be a direct flight, similar to the scheduled flight to New York. However, at this point in the negotiation, the idea is to fly Madiera – Ponta Delgada – Toronto, purely because SATA already flies direct from Ponta Delgada to Toronto, so adding the Madeira leg of the journey will not cause too many problems.
The flight schedule will be operated on a seasonal basis.
