Army and Police Work Together Against Bloom Epidemic

In a poll, 83.2% of Madeirans advocate “more energetic and interventional measures” in the fight against the latest synthetic drug, Bloom.

Most consider that the scourge justifies a joint operation by the PSP and the military forces in carrying out raids that culminate in the arrest of traffickers. But many also believe that the priority should be on creating “more punitive legislative measures.”

Bloom is said to mimic the effects of taking cocaine and can be swallowed in tablet form, injected, and snorted.

Side effects include:

Dilated pupils

Poor concentration and problems with visual focus

Teeth grinding

Poor short-term memory

Hallucinations

Delusions

Erratic Behaviour

Anxiety

Paranoia

Depression
