The President of the Regional Government today stated that Madeira is the largest integral reserve in the North Atlantic.
Miguel Albuquerque, who was at the opening of the ‘Climarest’ project meeting, in which Madeira participates through ARDITI, told researchers that Madeira is ready to be of service to research and science centres around the world, in order for these institutions to be able to study the effects of climate change, and regeneration of some marine species.
Miguel Albuquerque further stressed that ARDITI and the UMa are centres of excellence in research, especially marine ecosystems.
Thus, the Region can position itself as a research centre, in partnership with other institutions.
