A group of Águas e Residuos da Madeira (ARM) employees made a grisly discovery today, as they found human remains at the company’s waste sorting centre in Porto Novo, Santa Cruz.
The macabre finding was confirmed to local newspaper, JM, by an ARM source, who did not want to be identified. The source went on to say that the situation is being investigated and that human remains had been found during the normal waste treatment process.
The matter was immediately handed over to the competent authorities, and the remains will be analysed so to determine their origin.
