Continente Online is now available in Madeira.
In a statement, issued in August, Continente CEO Luis Moutinho argued that he wanted to open new stores in Madeira, as well as refurbish some of the existing supermarkets, which he said, would cost in the region of seven million euros.
In addition to the refurbishments, the superstore has expanded its online platform to include the inhabitants of Funchal, allowing them to make online purchases through their fast, safe, and efficient service. Customers can choose home delivery (paid for, prices start from €6.99), or collect their shopping free of charge at the Click&Go point at the Continente Modelo de Viveiros store in São Roque.
Pedro Santos, director of E-commerce at MC said that moving to Madeira was a positive step by the company, demonstrating the continual and improved customer service that their customers have a right to enjoy. Continente online became available on the mainland in 2001, and the company has always intended to broaden its online presence in Madeira. And, as part of their commitment to their customers, they are continuing to modernise and develop their digital presence on the island.
“Continente Online leads the online supermarket market in Portugal and was recently distinguished as the best online supermarket in Portugal (Best Portuguese online supermarkets 2022 rating), according to customer surveys by e-grocery in 2022 Portugal.”
In 2021, on its 20th anniversary, Continente Online renewed the website and app, with features that facilitate the entire purchase process allowing customers to save time.
The e-commerce platform of the Continente brand can be used on any device – website, mobile phone, or tablet – has navigation facilitated by the search system and personalised recommendations tailored to each client. At the checkout, consumers have the possibility to manage product-to-product replacements, with alternatives to unavailable items, making shopping easier.
To download the app (Android) go to Play Store, and for the iOS version please access the app store.
