Zaandam Docks in Funchal Harbour For First Time

The first stopover of Holland America Line’s ‘Zaandam’ was marked on board today, with the usual welcome ceremony between the ship’s commander and a group of port community entities, including the chairman of the Board of Directors of APRAM, S.A.

The liner set sail with 1,077 passengers and 584 crew members on the 10th of October from Fort Lauderdale, and after departing from Funchal will sail to Lanzarote, Agadir, Casablanca, Tunis, Crete, Suez Canal, Egypt, Jordan, Tanzania, Madagascar, Mozambique, before docking at its final destination, South Africa, on the 23rd of November.

The ship was built and entered service in 2000, and its last re-fit was in 2018.
