Funchal CTT branches were in chaos this morning.
Today the 10th of October, was the day that pensioners received an additional 50% supplement on their monthly pension, and as such CTT branches quickly began to run out of money, leaving some senior citizens unable to claim their monthly payments.
However, help was at hand with a quick ‘Wait!” initiative, which although meant many of the company’s customers remained inside the facility, they were able to finally receive their monthly pension and supplement.
Although pensioners seemed pleased to receive the additional money, Carlos Freitas complained to 88.8JMFM, that this money, which the Government of the Republic granted to help towards rising costs will prove insufficient to those whose pensions are on the baseline.
In addition to this, there were reports that CTT could not administer mobility allowance payments this morning.
