An injured man was found late this evening, lying on the ground in the Torreão area of Funchal.
Passers-by immediately phoned the emergency services, and an ambulance from the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters (BVM) quickly arrived at the scene.
A bystander reported to local newspaper, JM, that the man was suffering from severe facial injuries, and as yet, the cause and circumstances of the injuries are unknown.
