Further information released by the Madeira Regional Directorate of Statistics (DREM), today, shows that according to provisional data provided by the Madeira Regional Command of the Public Security Police (PSP), that in the 1st half of 2022, 1,471 traffic accidents which needed police intervention were recorded.
DREM’s information also shows that the the number of people involved in traffic accidents during this period stands at 496, a 6.7% increase on the same time last year, but a decrease of 22.3% for the same period in 2019. Of the total number of people involved in motor accidents, 451 had minor injuries, 41 were seriously hurt, and a further 4 died as a result of their injuries.
