From now on, all citizens aged 55 years and over will be eligible to receive the flu vaccine. In addition to this group, all those considered ‘at risk or highly vulnerable’, as well as health professionals will be vaccinated.
In a news statement, the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos confirmed that 55,000 vaccines have been ordered. 52,000 will be administered to all those eligible, and the remaining 3,000 will be used as booster vaccinations for specific cases.
The vaccines are expected to arrive shortly.
