A search and rescue mission was carried out this afternoon at the Pináculo lookout point in São Gonçalo.
Apparently, a man parked his car a few metres away from the lookout point, got out and then disappeared.
The road was closed, and members of the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters Rescue Team, the police and Rapid Response Brigade (BIR) were on site.
