The Regional Director of Health, Herberto Jesus, firmly believes that mandatory mask wearing on public transport will remain for the foreseeable future.
When questioned by journalists, he replied, “right now, we are using the precautionary principle, ensuring that those who may have Covid, but be unaware of it, do not spread the virus with other public transport users.”
In an ideal world, Covid cases would drop, and no one would die! However, that is not the case as 14 people died from Covid-19 related complications last week. Therefore, masks will remain in use.
