Herberto Jesus, the Regional Director of Health, today confirmed that Madeira registers on average 500 new cases of Covid-19 per day, and furthermore, rejected any idea of returning to mandatory mask wearing, stating that all the care and medications needed to combat the virus are readily available.
In view of the recent increase in the number of deaths attributed to Covid-19, he guaranteed that the virus is not the cause of death for most of the patients.
