32-Year Old Man Arrested for Heroin Possession

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Funchal for drug trafficking.

The man had 40 individual doses of heroin on his person, and has now been presented to the Judicial Court of the District of Funchal, and will await trial.

Five further arrests have taken place as part of a regular operational activity carried out by the Regional Command of PSP Madeira, of the Police Division of Funchal. 

  1. Arrest of a male individual, aged 47 years, born and residing in Funchal, for the crime of drug trafficking, having been seized after a house search 6 plants of “Cannabis” with a total weight of 105 grams;
  2. Arrest of a 54-year-old male, born and residing in Funchal, for the crime of drug trafficking, having been seized 20 individual doses of “Cocaine”;
  3. Arrest of a 32-year-old male, born and residing in Funchal, for the crime of drug trafficking, having been seized 40 individual doses of “Heroin”;
  4. Identification of a male citizen, aged 30 years, for possession of 15 individual doses of an undetermined psychoactive substance, and having around €620 in cash on suspicion of drug trafficking;
  5. Identification of 2 consumers aged 36 and 37 years with the respective seizure of 7 individual doses of heroin and 2 individual doses of an undetermined psychoactive substance;

The detained citizens were all presented to the Judicial Court of the District of Funchal and the coercive measure of the Term of Identity and Residence was applied to them.
