The Sapadores Firefighters of Funchal were called out at 01:00 this morning to help a 37-year-old woman who had parked her car on the hard shoulder of the Ribeiro Seco bridge, and who was seen to be suffering from emotional distress.
When they arrived, the woman was still inside her vehicle, and although physically unharmed was agitated to such a degree that it was deemed advisable to take her to hospital for observation and possible treatment.
The Public Security Police (PSP) also attended the incident, and accompanied the ambulance to hospital.
