Bioethics: Why Are The Elderly Abandoned in Hospitals

More and more elderly people are being abandoned in hospitals. This and the fragility of aging will be addressed at the first regional conference on Bioethics, promoted by the Bioethics centre on the 3rd of May.

Study centre coordinator, Cândida Carvalho, addressed the current situation by saying that the region is home to an ageing population, and while many senior citizens are still active and enjoying life, too many are experiencing the dark side of ageing, and the abuse associated with it.

The conference will take place in the Dr. Nélio Mendonça hospital auditorium, and is open to everyone.  If you would like to attend please register your interest via email at: cebpolomadeira@gmail.com
