The Regional Civil Protection Service announced this afternoon that the south coast of Madeira, the mountainous regions and Porto Santo will be placed under orange and yellow warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms between 00:00 and 15:00 on Sunday, due to the passage of a frontal depression, which is expected to hit the autonomous Region of Madeira early tomorrow morning.
From 00:00 to 06:00 the region will be under a yellow alert, however, the worst of the weather is expected to hit the islands between 06:00 – 09:00, where the alert will upgrade to orange, and then revert back to yellow from 09: 00 until 15:00.
