The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), has issued yellow warnings, due to the possibility of rain and sea agitation, from 3 pm today until Saturday.
A statement issued by the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), has advised that the south coast and mountainous regions of Madeira, will remain under a yellow weather warning until 18:00 on Sunday.
The Regional Civil Protection Service announced this afternoon that the south coast of Madeira, the mountainous regions and Porto Santo will be placed under orange and yellow warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms between 00:00 and 15:00 on Sunday, due to the passage of a frontal depression, which is expected to hit the autonomous Region of Madeira early tomorrow morning.
The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) has placed the south coast and mountainous regions of Madeira under a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms on Sunday the 12th of September.
The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and the Sea (IPMA), has once again extended the yellow warning that is currently in force until 21:00 Tuesday, the 7th of September, due to heavy rainfall and elevated temperatures.
The Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) has confirmed that during a three hour period this morning (8.00 am to 11.00 am), 63.9 litres of water fell per square metre in Chão do Areerio. The heavy rains led to to the IPMA weather stations issuing 13 yellow alerts, 4 orange alerts and 1 red alert for rain.
The Portuguese Institute for Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), has placed Madeira under an orange hot weather warning for Tuesday the 25th of August and Wednesday the 26th.
Madeira is currently under an orange warning due to periods of heavy rain or showers accompanied by occasional thunderstorms.
