A 20-year-old girl had to be rescued by the Portuguese Red Cross (CVP), after being stabbed in the Old Town of Funchal this week.
According to the authorities, the young woman was walking along the road, when she was attacked, by a man who stabbed her in the chest with a razor. It would appear that there was an altercation between them, and she was hurt as a result.
Both police officers and members from the Rapid Response Brigade attended the scene, where the woman was able to identify her attacker. She was then taken to hospital, and luckily her injuries were not serious.
