This morning, a landslide in the area of Colmeal in Curral das Freias activated the fire brigade. No major damage occurred but the road was blocked and needs cleaning.
Apart from boulders coming down on a road, heavy rain can force cars off the road and even push then into a riverbed. It’s better to stay indoors at this time, and to avoid the levadas for a few days, they can be very slippery.
