To celebrate National Day of the Sea, both the lighthouses at Ponta do Pargo and São Jorge will be open to the public tomorrow, the 16th of November from 13:30 – 16:30 on a first come first served basis. However, due to pandemic health and safety regulations only a limited number of people can enter the lighthouses at any given time.
In a brief statement, the National Maritime Authority, stated that opening the lighthouses to the public aims to “provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about their history, and the importance of lighthouses for safe navigation and safeguarding human life at sea.”
Admission to both lighthouses is free.
