A 32-year-old man was found dead in his car last night at the Neves viewpoint area, and his mother, who was also in the car, was taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
Despite their best efforts the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters (BVM) were unable to save the man, and the cause of death is currently unknown.
The Public Security Police (PSP) are investigating the situation.
