Madeira has run out of flu vaccines, well that’s the news from the Regional Health Department (SRS). This they say is good news, as the uptake this year has been very positive, as more and more people are aware of the benefit of being vaccinated against influenza.
According to a SRS statement, “since the start of the influenza vaccination campaign, more than 12 thousand vaccines have been administered, and the number of vaccines made available to the Region were quickly exhausted.”
The same source adds, that they are working hard to bring forward the next shipment of vaccines, which was originally scheduled for the end of October. This means that vaccination centres will only be administering Covid-19 vaccines until further notice.
Concluding, the statement reiterated that as soon as the new shipment of vaccines arrive, the general public will be notified.
