According to the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, Humberto Vasconcelos, this year’s harvest is a 100 tonnes less than 2020.
The main culprit would appear to be global climate change, which led to cooler weather during the first half of this year, followed by unseasonal rain and a heat wave.
Our farmers never seem to catch a break.
