On the 13th and 14th of August (Friday and Saturday), the Funchal City Council (CMF) will be promoting their “For 30, we give 5” initiative. The campaign is dedicated to encouraging everyone to buy more from their local municipal markets to enable them to survive and as such for every 30 euros spent on purchases, a €5 voucher will be given which can be used at either the Mercado dos Lavradores or Mercado da Penteada.
Dedicated to the revitalisation of Funchal, Mayor Miguel Silva Gouveia stressed that he is working hard to help mitigate the circumstances many stallholders have found themselves in due to the pandemic, and believes that by promoting and campaigning for greater use of the city’s markets it will help revive an already fragile economy.
To take part in the initiative, all you need to do is spend over €30 in a single transaction at the Mercado dos Lavradores, and then take your receipt to the Market Administrative Services and present your receipt for validation.
The campaign is valid until the vouchers expire.
