ARAE Warns Against Using Fapil Alcohol Hand Sanitizer

ARAE agents issued an alert today asking everyone to refrain from using Fapil 100 ml alcohol hand sanitizer gel (Lot: 89603; -11/2023) which is on sale in Madeira. 

In a note published on social networks, the Regional Authority for Economic Activities (ARAE), confirmed that it received the alert from the RAPEX platform – Alert System for Dangerous Non-Food Products, stating that the product in question, “after laboratory analysis, did not comply with Biocidal product regulations, as no traces of ethanol were detected, and therefore does not meet (EU) Regulation No. 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 22nd of May 2012, concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal products, and Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council, dated the 16th of December 2008, on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures, which amends and repeals Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amends Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006.”
