The Vice President of the Regional Government (RG), Pedro Calado, has stated that he wants to simplify and reduce bureaucracy to make it easier for business owners to apply for community funds. In addition, he would like to streamline certain bureaucratic procedures between the autarchy and government bodies.
As part of a series of themed discussions under the heading ‘Funchal Semper à Frente,’ today’s meeting titled “Incentives to the Business Fabric,” saw Pedro Calado explaining to local newspaper JM that the objective is to “healthy discussions with business owners in order to understand the difficulties they have in trying to apply for funds, and how the RG can improve the application procedure.”
“We will, in essence,’ he said, “guarantee that we will do everything to ensure these processes are dealt with efficiently in terms of licensing, and completing the necessary authorisations that the IDE (Institute for Business Development) need to enable them to approve the release of community funds.”
Basically, what he wants is for business owners to talk to him so that he can understand the difficulties they have either with government bodies or the Funchal City Hall.
