The decision to move Ribeira Brava’s vaccination centre to the Serra de Água pavilion has been heavily criticised.
While the move was justified as a way of preventing overcrowding, images taken today show that queues of people were left waiting outside on the street with no adequate shelter from the elements.
Among various complaints, was the lack of planning and accommodation for elderly people. Although the municipality had organised transport, many senior citizens were then left to stand out in the sun while they waited for their appointment.
