The Regional Command of Madeira announced today, that, within the scope of the national operation ‘Ao Volante, Telemóvel Pode Esperar,’ Madeiran police officers will be on the look out for people using their mobile phones while driving.
In Madeira, more than a third of traffic accidents are caused by ‘driver distractions’ and taking into account the danger of using mobile phones while driving, the Madeiran and Porto Santo Public Security Police (PSP), will take part in a national operation ‘Ao Volante, Telemóvel Pode Esperar,’ from the 25th to the 31st of May.
