Established in 2020, Madeiran Associação Womaniza-te, will launch its website at 6 pm on the 22nd of May. The aim of the website is to gather information on dating violence, so that the association can support and educate young girls many of whom may either be subjected to, or believe that violence in a relationship is normal (There was a recent study which showed that 7/10 Madeiran girls thought relationship violence was acceptable.)
The event will be held via Zoom, and all those interested must register beforehand. Registrations can be made through the event page and / or through the Womaniza-te Association Facebook / Instagram pages.
Associação Womaniza-te is a non-profit youth association that started as an informal group of young Wo (Men) in 2018, with the aim of raising awareness of gender equality. This project promotes awareness initiatives organised by Basic and Secondary schools in the region, develops online campaigns and shares weekly content, as well as having a very active presence on social networks. It has worked in partnership with different institutions, from municipalities, other associations and Social Security community centres.
