An anonymous tip off has triggered a number of searches on various Regional Government offices by the Judicial Police, due to a complaint made about the international ferry connection tender between Madeira and the mainland.
Looking slightly defensive when asked to comment on the situation, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, stated that his government is available and willing to collaborate with any investigation. He concluded by saying:
“Whenever inquiries are opened we make everything available, ensuring that the who process is transparent.”
