According to information released on the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea website, a 1.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded southeast of the Desertas at 01.39 this morning.
The depth of the earthquake has been recorded as being 10 km, and due to its weakness it would not have been felt.
