Madeira has been showcased on Russian TV presenter, Zhanna Badoeva’s travel programme, ‘The Lives of Others.’ The programme was released today, Sunday the 2nd of May, on Youtube and Channel One Russia.
During the 45 minute programme, Zhanna Badoeva promotes the island, not as a tourism destination, but as a way of showing the real Madeira and the lives of its inhabitants. The episode covers themes such as giving birth at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, education, transport, forest police, Nini Andrade Silva’s atelier, the Madeira Wine business and banana production.
Other, more sensitive topics are also covered, such as the problems experienced at Madeira International Airport, and life after retirement, as well as darker subjects, including adultery and domestic violence.
