Those living in Camacha, Santa Cruz, Machico and Ribeira Brava can now do their grocery shopping online through the new Pingo Doce and Mercadão home delivery service.
Under this system customers can place their orders (50 euro minimum) through the fast delivery marketplace and either have them delivered to their home or collect their order from the closest participating Pingo Doce supermarket. Orders over 100 Euros are delivered free of charge.
In their statement, Mercadão said that they ‘initially launched this service in Funchal and Caniço, and has become so popular that they are expanding their delivery service to include other locations.’
To take advantage of this service, simply access the platform, select the desired products and choose the delivery date and time. Purchases are inspected by personal shoppers – Mercadão operators – who visit the Pingo Doce store and guarantee the quality of all products. After which they are delivered, or set aside for collection through the ‘Click and Collect’ service.
All payments are made online.
