A St. Patrick’s Day celebration was interrupted this afternoon by Public Security Police (PSP) officers at a bar located in in Rua Imperatriz Dona Amélia, Funchal.
The police, accompanied by the Regional Authority for Economic Activities (ARAE), raided the premises and put an end to the party, where there were around 24 partygoers, most of whom were Irish.
The PSP and ARAE reported that the celebrations contravened the current pandemic regulations including lack of social distancing, non use of masks, and capacity exceeding the recommended number of people per square metre.
