Political Party, Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) has confirmed that they will meet on Monday, the 8th of March in Porto Santo, to finalise the Madeira – Porto Santo Air Mobility document. In their statement, Élvio Sousa, spokesperson for the initiative and Parliamentary Leader of the JPP said:
“The process of revising the air mobility model between Porto Santo and Madeira is underway, and is a matter of regional interest, especially to ensure territorial continuity. For this reason the JPP also included a report on cost fluctuations and the air and maritime isolation of both Madeira and Porto Santo. Furthermore, items such as frequency of flights, flight schedules, tariff revision, ticket prices and the creation of more accessible fares need to be addressed.”
A working group has been formed, under the coordination of Professor Carlos Silva, who, in recent months, has assembled several proposals aimed at improving the model of air mobility that connects the island of Madeira and Porto Santo.
Once finalised a copy of the report will be sent to the Government of Republic.
