Containment Will Take As Long as it Takes

The President of the Regional Government has said that for now, the measures to contain the pandemic depend on the evolution of the pandemic situation, and for now, and unlike the situation on the mainland (who will remain in confinement until the 19th of March), the current confinement regulations will remain in place.

As for the schools, he said, the idea is to keep the situation as it is until the 21st of February, but he cannot guarantee that 3rd cycle and secondary school students will return to normal classroom lessons on the 22nd as originally predicted.

Concluding, he said that the extensive and intensive testing that the public and private sectors are undergoing, should help reduce the number of daily positive cases.
