After the initial transportation of three Covid patients from the mainland to Madeira last weekend, a further three mainland Covid infected patients will arrive this week.
According to the Regional Secretary of Health, Pedro Ramos, the region has eight patients in intensive care at the moment, and the facility can care for up to fifty. As this is the case, he has contacted the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, confirming that the region is willing to accept the new patients.
Pedro Ramos also said that Madeira’s Covid cases were beginning to show some sign of abating.
Miguel Albuquerque stated that this was an act of decency and humanitarianism.
