An elderly man who was vaccinated with the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, has been admitted to the Covid-19 Multipurpose Unit of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça. According to a hospital source, the senior citizen was vaccinated on the 12th of January 12th with the first dose of Pfizer vaccine, after being admitted to a residential home in Funchal three days earlier.
At the time of his admittance he displayed no Covid related symptoms, however, on Saturday the 16th of January he felt ill during the night and transported to the emergency department of Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital in what was termed a ‘weak state.’
After arriving at the emergency department, his condition deteriorated and he was quickly transferred to the Covid Intensive Care Unit.
