At a press conference held this afternoon by Eduado Jesus, the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture, he outlined his plans for New Year when he basically asked everyone to stay at home and watch the end of year fireworks display either from their home or on TV.
However, for those who cannot see the display from their home he was provided a solution. There are specific zones where people will be allowed to see the display, but these are limited to family groups and the use of masks and social distancing will be mandatory.
All in all, the Government believes that it can allow 10,300 people to safely gather in the designated zones, which comprise Praça CR7, Avenida Sá Carneiro, Avenida do Mar, plus the Nazaré, Neves, and Pico dos Barcelos viewpoints.
The pyrotechnic show will be broadcast on RTP-Madeira, channel naminhaterra.com and for those with a vivid imagination…… on the radio!
