The Judiciary Police in conjunction with the Criminal Investigation Department of Madeira, have detained a 47-year-old male CTT employee for embezzlement, falsification of documents and correspondence violation. The arrest comes after a complaint was made by CTT’s audit and inspection services.
The individual in question, is suspected of embezzling €51,800 in cash in the course of his duties. However, a CTT spokesperson has said that it has been possible to recover most of the stolen money.
