According to the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, by the 7th of November a total of 38,729 vaccines had been administered in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM). In a statement he said that in global terms, we have already exceeded the number of people vaccinated against influenza compared to last year’s vaccination campaign.
Health authorities are still awaiting the delivery of another 15,000 vaccines, scheduled for the last week of November and the beginning of December. The availability of flu vaccines in the country is conditioned and some difficulties are expected in the health centres over the coming days.
It is important to remember that the flu vaccination campaign started on the 28th of September and since then more than 60% of health professionals (3,325 professionals) and 52% of the elderly resident population (22,263 elderly people) have been vaccinated.
