The Salesian School of Funchal has activated their Covid-19 measures after the father of a 7th grade student tested positive for the virus last Friday. Although he informed the school of the situation, this has been made worse as the students classmates all came into contact with each other during a birthday party over the weekend. The whole class is currently in isolation pending test results although for the moment the school has confirmed that none of the students have tested positive.
In a separate development, a teacher from the Basic School of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos has tested positive for the virus, and is now in isolation. The school has triggered its contingency plan, and all those who have had close contact with the teacher are being traced and placed in isolation.
