Transportadora Aérea Portuguesa (TAP) now offers an insurance package that covers the reimbursement of expenses related to quarantine and travel extensions due to Covid-19, as well as hospitalisation during the trip, to all customers flying on company operated routes.
Their Covid-19 insurance policy covers hospitalisation costs up to 500 euros, as well as the reimbursement of the same amount for expenses related to accommodation, food, and other services related to symptoms / diagnosis of the new coronavirus, if the quarantine is imposed by medical order and when a mandatory extension is necessary due to illness.
In addition to the hospitalisation fee, the insurance also covers admission to an intensive care unit during the trip up to a maximum fixed value of €1,000.
Insurance coverage is available to customers once they have purchased their ticket (in national territory) for a return trip on their Classic, Executive Plus and Top Executive rates. Individuals are eligible for trips of up to nine passengers per booking, with a maximum duration of 30 days. The insurance is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase, although other conditions do apply.
Free travel changes
Until the end of November, the airline is offering free seat reservations to passengers on their flights thus allowing greater flexibility to customers on all flights booked before the 30th of November who are travelling between the 30th of November and the 15th of March 2021.
