Today, the 30th of September the Machico City Hall delivered 55 food baskets to those in need within the parish. This social short-term measure, is designed to last only three months, but can be extended if required.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the City Hall said that the baskets not only helped those in need but provided a way of helping local farmers and retailers.
So far, a total of 210 baskets have been delivered, and state that anyone in need should contact the City Hall and fill in the required application forms, as well as schedule a delivery day.
