The management of Horários do Funchal (HF) announced this morning that it had reached an agreement with the Union of Road Workers and Metallurgical Activities of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (STRAMM), “concerning the protection of the Single Agent subsidy, as well as the payment of the allowance that replaced the Single Agent subsidy to drivers who did not work during the pandemic.”
In order to facilitate the agreement, Horários do Funchal accepted two amendments to the Company Agreement signed in 2019 and valid until 2029. The new changes are in connection with the clauses regarding the single agent allowance and the allowance for failures, either due to the pandemic or for any other reason, in order to ensure that both will be paid.
According to an administration spokesperson, the agreement is in the interests of the drivers, essential collaborators for the operation, while safeguarding the financial situation of HF during the evolution of the pandemic as well “as to continue to ensure a quality service for the entire population of Funchal and the Region, as well as to our visitors.”
Furthermore, the spokesperson added that “it is absolutely necessary to maintain social peace and consultation within the group, and promote fundamental values making it possible to overcome the crisis and to continue to guarantee a quality service for the entire population.”
