Social Security – You May be Eligible to Claim

Self-employed workers who could not apply or who did not qualify for Social Security as part of the pandemic relief measures can now apply from today, the 23rd of September until the end of the month.

Updated information on the Social Security Website states that the “forms for making requests for support for retroactive periods within the scope of the extraordinary support for the reduction of economic activity and the extraordinary incentive measure are available at the Social Security Direct (SSD), between the 23rd and 30th of  September for self-employed workers and for members of statutory bodies.”

The payment of social security for self employed workers has been in force since March, however, it has undergone several changes and has now been extended to support a greater number of workers who have been affected by the pandemic.
