Luísa Ferreira Barreto, the 38-year-old who has been missing since 2 pm on Monday, called her mother this morning at 10 am. Stressing that she was fine, she also told her mother that she was not returning home and that she had left the island. A statement her family has rebuked, stating that they believe that she is still somewhere on the island. Ending her call, she said that she would be in contact with her children.
Luísa lives in Santo Amaro and was seen for the last time by her son before she left for a doctors appointment. She has three children, and was wearing black trousers and a flowery blouse. She is now also said to have been carrying a black suitcase.
