The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, was present today at Madeira Airport to mark the inaugural flight operated by EasyJet Holiday from its London base this morning.
Eduardo Jesus confirmed that EasyJet Holiday is a new operator formed in 2019. However, due to the pandemic flights had to be suspended, and today the first group of EasyJet Holiday passengers arrived in Madeira. The operator is part of the ‘EasyJet’ group and provides an increase in possibilities for those who want to visit the island.
He went on to say that according to representatives from both ‘EasyJet’ and ‘EasyJet Holidays’ demand for flights is continuing to grow, and that todays arrival a new tourism door has opened making Madeira more accessible and appealing.
The EasyJet Holidays operation in Madeira is supported by the Madeira Promotion Association.
