The parish of Arco de São Jorge has been very proactive in its Covid-19 prevention programmes. Today (29.08) as part of the municipality’s # NósLevamosàPorta and # Liga-teaoAmanhã, volunteers have been distributing washable face masks, made from 100% cotton and with TNT filters to members of the community.
Since the mandatory use of face masks in all public spaces across the region, the municipality decided that by supporting the local population in this way, they would help reduce the costs and protect the environment by producing good quality, washable face protection.
The council issued a statement of thanks to all the people and seamstresses of the parish who, voluntarily gave up their time and skills and who responded to the council’s request for help in the making of the masks.
Four hundred masks are being distributed as part of a kit that includes the mask, a series of filters, instruction booklet and a ‘mascot’ sticker.
